I apologize for the HUGE lapse in blogging – it’s been a crazy busy month!!! October is always busy due to the gorgeousness that is Ohio in autumn but this year was especially crazy. I’ve been on the road more than I feel like I’ve been off of it but the end result is a TON of things to come on the blog for you in the coming weeks. My Facebook Page is always pretty up to date so if you’re wanting a preview of what I’ve been up to, make sure to visit and hit the like button!
Megan contacted me a while back and I must confess, I did a chair happy dance when I received her inquiry because I LOOOOOOOVEEEEE her venue. DeBonne Vineyard is my most favorite winery in Ohio – I can’t choose a favorite wine of theirs but I really love the Chambourcin and the Razzberry Riesling. Not only is their wine amazing but I also think the setting is quite beautiful and I was really excited about photographing a wedding at this vineyard. Luckily the weather ended up being perfect – rain was predicted but the clouds went around us, whew! Megan found me via the internet but the day of their wedding I was surprised to see Andrea’s parents in attendance whom are friends of Megan’s family.
I LOVED the look of this wedding. Very simple and elegant and all of the floral arrangements were live!!! I’m still kind of in awe of Megan’s amazing bouquet and it’s unlike any other I’ve ever seen. I also adored that she went against tradition and wore a beautiful lace gown of a gold color instead of the traditional white. White is SUCH a hard color to pull off (and keep pristine!) so as a photographer I do a little jig whenever my clients opt for something a bit more flattering to their skin tone. The whole wedding was a feast for the eyes and I’m excited to finally be blogging it!
Finally I have to give some major props to the guests at this wedding. This wedding was not unplugged but every single guest went out of their way to make sure that I knew I was #1 and that they didn’t interfere with my work. They made sure to stay out of my shot and be as discrete as possible when taking their own shots. THANK YOU!
How cute is Megan’s Mom and Yves’ parents?!?
The clouds got a bit dramatic during the ceremony but luckily the rain stayed away.
I love that after the ceremony they made sure to hug their parents before proceeding down the aisle.
This is one of my favorite moments from the day.
HOW AMAZING ARE THESE BOUQUETS?!!? Megan MADE these and they were live potted plants. I’m still in awe. They were just so awesome.
These guys were so easy to work with. I especially loved their cork boutonnieres.
It was a bit of a jaunt to the vineyards from the ceremony location but this group embraced the walk and had fun with it.
Make a wish! I still can’t believe we found dandelions in September!
It was a bit sunny but these guys did great in the sun!
However I’m glad I found this little shaded nook for Megan and Yves to cuddle in with some grapes still on the vines.
Seriously, it was a beautiful day for a wedding in late September. You never know what you’ll get in Ohio!
Laughs are my favorite!
Isn’t this dress amazing? Aren’t THEY amazing??
I really loved these bridesmaids dresses as well, they are so flattering and such a great color!
The guys HAD to have their turn with these amazing bouquets!
Another with the group before heading back to their reception.
I loved how Yves chose to match his men with their grey vests and purple tie. The choice to go without a coat was a smart one – I think with coats these guys would have been a bit more sweaty and miserable.
Megan, you looked amazing!! This dress is so simple and beautiful and I really hope you DO wear it again! Again, more gushing over the awesome bouquet. It is so Lord of the Rings and just brilliant!
Congratulations to you both and thank you for having me along on your day!
