Wedding • Kelly and Brian • Lake Forest Country Club

First a few business things I should get out of the way….

•  I know a lot of you have been sad for the sorry state of my blog lately, I apologize!  This summer has been super busy!  I know I’ve posted before but if you want to stay up to date on what I’m doing, make sure to become a fan of the Facebook Page and check in now and again for updates.  Apparently Facebook is now forcing businesses to pay for things to be promoted to its fans so the likelihood of the regular updates hitting your news feed are slim to none unless I pay up.  So check in often and let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see more or less of!

•  I finally have hit the break of the sting of weddings I’ve had since May, whew!!!!  I apologize for the lack of updating on the blog, it’s been a long (but great!) summer!  However, I am looking forward to my first week off since early May this week!!!

•  To celebrate my first week off in too long, I will be taking a trip to Boston and going up to New Hampshire to meet my friends Gianina and Diana and taking a lovely fall foilage tour of New England.  We’re also tossing in a couple days in my beloved Prince Edward Island!  So if you try to get in touch with me between Saturday October 13th and Sunday October 21st your reply may be delayed.  I apologize and I will get back in touch with you as soon as I can.  If you are obsessed with Anne of Green Gables (bragging alert:  I’ve met Jonathan Crombie a few times who played Gilbert, someday I should blog the pics, he’s a doll and incredibly kind) let me know if you want a trinket from PEI!

Now… onto the wedding!!

•  Kelly may win for most laid back bride that I’ve ever had.  I don’t think I saw a single feather ruffle all day.  Both her and Brian were so relaxed all day and just went with the flow.

•  Kelly’s bridesmaids were also crazy helpful, they were willing to do anything and everything to make my day easier!  It did make my day easier having such awesome ladies willing to help, even if I didn’t need it 🙂

•  This wedding in August was one of the first with just nice temps, WHEW!  It was one of the hottest summers I can remember and while it was still warm, it wasn’t 100 degrees so I was happy.  Something I never thought I’d be saying about Ohio.

•  I love when the “theme” of the wedding ties into something personal to the couple, much more than “autumn love in the harvest” or whatever that sounds cool but really has no ties to the couple.  Their theme centered around aviation since they are both pilots and that’s how they met.  There were just enough adorable touches focusing on planes and it was adorable.

•  This may be one of the weirdest wedding receptions ever, in a good way!  Typically the kiddos are the first on the floor, followed by the older crowd which then fades into the young crowd who get a bit crazy.  At their reception. the young crowd stayed at tables, chatting and catching up while drinking and enjoying some yummy cake while the older crowd was tearing it up on the dance floor!  It was SO awesome but but me and the DJ were totally amazed with how it wound up.  Let me tell you though, they can dance and even to LMFAO, they had some awesome moves!

This has been the summer for the personalized wooden and metal hangers and I LOVE them!  This one was customized with “I do” which I do love.

I got to play with the wedding rings early in the day so I decided to play with them on Kelly’s gorgeous train!

Kelly’s mom had a pin and a small circlet of pearls from family members that are now gone to pin onto Kelly’s dress as her something old.  Love!

It takes a mini army to get a bride ready.

Brian was happy when he finally got to see Kelly.

Kiss!

The bubbles floated so perfectly the day of their wedding!

Brian is not a short guy and everyone was waiting to see how he would fit into the tiny classic car they had for their getaway but he managed just fine!

They are pretty good looking huh?

Favorite!

They are adorable together.

These guys were so much fun, I loved their hilarious fun socks they got for the wedding just hours before at Target.  Later on Kelly’s Grandpa would steal her brothers socks (one of the striped ones) and wear them to boogie on the dancefloor!

Proof that you can have uneven guys vs girls and it all looks just fine!

I loved the bridesmaid dresses and Molly did an amazing job with the flowers, the yellow was a perfect touch!

Gorgeous!

Isn’t their cake topper amazing!?

While guests were finishing up their meals, I stole Kelly and Brian for a quick shot with the setting sun over the lake.

Their first dance was so sweet, I love seeing everyone’s faces watching them.

They really got into Shout!

What else would you expect as favors from a pilot wedding?!  Peanuts!

SUCH A COOL GUESTBOOK!  This was a vintage style propellor that they had the guests sign, in their home they’ll display it on the mantle.  I love this idea!

The moon was AMAZING and when wandering around I saw how it was just too perfect not to take advantage of it with Kelly and Brian.  After the wedding I found out that Neil Armstrong had died that day and it made perfect sense on why the moon was particularly brilliant and also lightly ties in the news story with their wedding.  Especially since he was a famous Ohioan!
