WPPI 2009: Neon Graveyard

Last year I organized a group shoot at The Boneyard aka the Neon Graveyard in downtown Las Vegas. This year I was eager to go again and lucky for me there was a group going from the [b] school. I brought my friend Kate McElwee along whom had to miss out on last year’s shoot due to the yearly horrific “WPPI Funk” that everyone seems to catch at some point. Last year the day was absolutely stunning with clear skies and warm sun but this year it was overcast and pretty cold due to a frigid wind. There was about 40 or so photographers in all with [b]ecker and Jessica Claire in attendance as well. We had 2 model couples (real life couples at that) and two additional ‘bride’ models as well. Despite the winds and chills, I think everyone had a great time! I also made a couple new photographer friends as well, Sylvain Gentile and Bob Knapik whom are both amazing photographers!

Stay tuned tomorrow for the winner of my first annual giveaway!!!

Last week Chris and I went to Maine, just for fun, for a few days.  I had a small break before the “stretch” starts this year (weeks without breaks in weddings) so I thought it’d be fun to take a quick trip somewhere that I loved and wanted to share with my husband that didn’t…

Confession: until I started to actually plan my trip to Epcot, I thought that it was all inside of the golf ball that holds the roller coaster Spaceship Earth.  I hope I’m not the only one. I went to Epcot with one mission: to drink around the world.  I did skip a couple countries but…

  1. I love the shots. My favorite is the close-up under the veil, beautiful! Thanks for the kind words in your post! I am so happy that we met and that I now have you as a friend.

  2. Yay! I’m so happy you finally posted these – you got such good shots. My faves are definitely the two closeups of the girls (the lady with the gold is spectacular) and the last shot is sweet and cute and funny all in one. Thank you SO MUCH for bringing me along – what an awesome opportunity 🙂
